Definitely holds 5lbs, but not 8 lbs.
Color: Orange_J_Hooks
It holds my 3lb weight, also my 5lb weight. But it doesn't hold them both - 8 lbs- as it slides off my metal door.

Extremely strong magnets
Color: Orange
The magnets are extremely strong. You almost have to slide it off the metal surface to remove.
